Let's Get Moving 🏃🏌🏊

Physical activity can improve your health and reduce the risk of developing several diseases like type 2 diabetes, cancer and cardiovascular disease.  It also can improve mood.  According to choosemyplate.gov children and adolescents should do 60 minutes or more of physical activity each day. Most of the 60 minutes should be either moderate-or vigorous intensity aerobic physical activity, and should include vigorous-intensity physical activity at least 3 days a week.  Here are some tips to keep moving: Use the buddy system: Join a walking group or attend fitness classes. Plan a hiking or canoeing trip instead of a beach vacation. Sign up for a 5k run/walk with friends or family. Sneak in exercise at your desk like leg lifts and calf raises. Take a 15-minute walk on your lunch break (or walk up and down the stairs when weather’s bad). Exercise doesn’t have to be a chore…what keeps you moving?
